1) Christmas Market Tour & Pálinka Tasting:

Budapest Christmas Market Tour

Embrace the winter scents and flavours of Hungary's capital on this 3 hour walking tour. It starts outside the Pálinka Museum on Király Street at 13:00. Here you'll be introduced to your guide, who'll lead you on an enchanting trail through decorated market stalls, festive shop fronts and a Christmas Manger next to St. Stephen's Basilica.

Each guest is treated to a freshly roasted chimney cake and mulled wine, as well as a sampling of three different pálinkas (2cl servings). The aim to give travelers a hands-on introduction to Hungary's Christmas traditions and gastronomy - all within view of Budapest's tallest religious structure.

2) Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner Cruise:

This special December 24th dinner cruise features two departures just before the big day. You and your fellow revelers will meet up in the reception area of Danube Palace for either 17:00 or 21:00. From here, a friendly host will guide you all towards a festively bedecked sightseeing boat moored up along Danube Promenade.

Upon boarding you'll be greeted by colorful decorations and a lavish spread of seasonal Hungarian and international delights. Be sure to try a 'mákos bejgli' (sweet poppyseed/walnut roll) and a warm bowl of 'halászlé' (paprika-spiced fish soup). To further complement the atmosphere live music will be provided by three musicians from the Rajkó Folk Ensemble and Orchestra.

Relax with your choice of welcome drink as joyful tunes fill your ears and Budapest's winter illuminations roll by. Please note that there is a smart casual dress code for this activity. The operator reserves the right to refuse access on account of inappropriate clothing.


3) Christmas Gala Concert (plus dinner cruise option):

Certain forms of art seem to lend themselves to the serene calm of winter, whether through the moonlight palettes of Swan Lake, or the ability of an orchestra to invoke a dramatic sense of movement, like swirling snow and chill winds. During this special edition of the Danube Palace Gala Concert a company of musicians, folk singers and ballet dancers will channel the spirit of Christmas as they lead you through centuries of Hungarian musical tradition.

There are two start times to choose from (17:00 or 20:00) plus an optional follow-up dinner cruise. Performances are also available on December 27th and 30th (without optional cruise).


4) Budapest Organ Concert:

While there are no performances of Hungária Koncert's famous Organ Concert on Christmas Eve or Day, it's well worth checking out the available December dates. Performances are held in the grand surrounds of St. Stephen’s Basilica, ideal if you've previously explored the building's exterior Christmas Market. As with the Gala Concert, it's available as a dinner cruise package.
