About The Athens Food Tour:
Greece is renowned for mouth-watering dishes such as spanokopita, gyro and dolmades. So if you fancy yourself a foodie it's well worth booking a gastronomy-focused tour of Athens. By sampling traditional Greek delicacies and visiting shops and markets popular with Athenian locals, you'll enjoy the authentic flavours of the Greek capital.
On this food tasting tour you'll meet-up with a local guide who'll take off the beaten path to explore family run bakeries, sweet stores and even the colourful central market. Since it's all conducted on foot, you'll be able to explore the little side streets that boast some of Athens' most beloved eateries.
Better yet, as each tour is limited to 16 participants, your guide will have plenty of time to answer any questions that you may have. They'll also happily help you track down a particular dish you're interested in trying.
During the tour there will be plenty of time to sample locally grown products such as black olives as well as traditional Greek deserts laden with honey. On average each group will sample 22 different types of food and beverages. Expect to complete your guided tour of Athens with a full stomach and maybe even a takeaway for later.
After sampling so many foodstuffs you're bound to find at least one 'love at first bite'.
