About The Barcelona Ice Bar:
With its stark contrast of atmospheres the Barcelona Ice Bar is one of the city's most unique and memorable nightlife experiences. Located at the northern end of Passeig Marítim in the Barceloneta neighbourhood its ice lounge features real hand-sculpted ice furniture and ornamentation designed by world renowned artists. The spectacle is kept at a steady -5°C (20°F) and the combined weight of the ice used in its creation amounts to about 25 tons.
Providing you're not a regular it's very likely that no two visits will be the same, as the bar sports a new thematic update every year. In honour of the series' 2015 revival Ice Barcelona's 2016 design theme is Star Wars.
The venue is popular with both locals and tourists all year round. It's always lively at weekends, especially between 23:00-01:00, and is even suitable for families with children during earlier hours (see below).
Upon arrival you'll be treated to a free welcome drink as well as a warm jacket and gloves for the ice lounge. The average length of a stay in the sub-zero bar is 45 minutes, but this varies depending on how busy it is. Once inside why not enjoy a chilly beer or a cocktail expertly prepared by one of the Ice Bar's professional baristas.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own camera, whether it's to take a few snaps or record their experience on video.
