About The Malta Game Of Thrones Tour:

Before Dubrovnik, much of what transpired in King's Landing and beyond did so in the real world towns and cities of Malta. Cast your mind back to key moments from series 1 and 2, such as Daenerys' introduction to Khal Drogo or Ned Stark's beheading, and most of what you see will have been shot on the island nation. Sites like these and many more are all covered on this 9-hour filming locations day tour.

The experience is led by two professional actors who've starred on Game of Thrones. After being picked up from your hotel, you'll travel by air-conditioned minibus to the ‘three villages' area of Attard, Balzan, and Lija. Along the way the guides will offer insider trivia and entertaining stories about their time working with the show's main cast.

Attard is the site of San Anton Palace, which in real life acts as the official residence of the President of Malta. In Game of Thrones, it served as an early backdrop for the gardens of King’s Landing. Other sites featured on this leg of the tour include the Tower of the Hand and Maegor's Holdfast - shown prominently during the Battle of the Blackwater.

Back in the coach you'll travel through Malta's remarkable countryside to the Shadow Cliffs and the Red Waste. These locations were key to various scenes featuring Daenerys and the Dothraki, including Khal Drogo's funeral pyre and the hatching of the three dragons. Another notable moment involving the Dothraki is revisited in the village of Lhazar, where the healer woman Mirri Maz Duur is enslaved and her village burned.

At this point the tour heads to the medieval city of Mdina, where there will be a break for lunch. Note that food must be purchased at your own expense, though participants are welcome to bring their own packed lunch.

Afterwards, continue your Game of Thrones sightseeing in Mdina. The guides will show you the King's Gate (where Ned bids farewell to Catelyn), Coppersmith’s Wynd, the Baelish Brothel, and many more exciting locations.

The final stop on the tour takes you to Rabat, whose monastery stood in as one of the settings of the Red Keep. Once the tour's over you'll be returned to your hotel in the minibus.
