About The Lake Balaton Day Tour:
Located about 80 miles (ca. 129 km) south-west of Budapest, Central Europe's largest freshwater lake is a prime short break destination for city-dwelling Hungarians. Join a local tour guide and experience Lake Balaton for yourself this summer. The area is famous for its historic resort towns, wine-producing hills and beaches.
After departing the capital you'll visit Balatonfüred, the north shore's most popular traditional spa resort. Stroll along verdant avenues and soak up the ambience of the town's 18-19th century villas. Reaching the yachting marina with its scenic views of the Tihany Peninsula you'll embark on a relaxing 1-hour cruise on the lake. Afterwards, enjoy lunch in the centre of Balatonfüred.
Fed and refreshed, you'll next make your way to Tihany village, pausing along the way for an optional swim in Lake Balaton's crystal clear waters. Admire panoramic views of the lake from the Abbey Hill in Tihany village, then discover its inner lake and lavender fields.
At the end of the tour you'll be returned to Budapest city centre. There's no set departure point, instead you'll be collected from your hotel reception around 08:30. Please notify your hotel address to (firstname.lastname@example.org) either before or after placing your booking.
