Your adventure will begin outside Ellen's Stardust Diner on the corner of 51st St & Broadway. Arrive early and grab a bite to eat or just turn up for the departure time. Whatever you do you must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to 10:00. You will be picked up at this time by a comfortable, modern coach which will serve as your transport for the duration of the tour.
Your guide will be a local New York City actor or actress who has firsthand experience in the film and television industry. They will be able to tell all sorts of amusing stories about their time on sets as well as being highly proficient in their explanations of locations and background.
Although the tour is partially conducted from the coach there will be a number of stops where you can set out on foot with your guide and see a location up close. A great one is a photo opportunity in Greenwich Village where your tour guide will take you to the apartment building lived in by Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Rachel from Friends. Another is a shopping break in SoHo complete with its own big and small screen claims to fame.
Some of New York's most iconic buildings and districts will be explored in the context of film and television. You'll pass by the buildings that stand in for the Oscorp and Daily Bugle offices in both The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man (Sam Raimi) franchises. The pub frequented by Michael Keaton in Birdman also features along the journey, as does the Park seen in Glee, The Mindy Project, and When Harry Met Sally. In addition to The Original Soup Man various other locations from Seinfeld will make an appearance, along with the hotel featured in American Hustle.
A few of the newest locations being unveiled in time for summer 2015 include backdrops from: Person of Interest, GIRLS, The Mysteries of Laura, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and more!
The locations summarised here are only a few of the amazing spots that will covered in the New York TV and Movie Sites Tour. If you can think of a movie or TV show set in New York then chances are you'll catch a glimpse of one of its settings. Any questions you have in relation to a favourite flick can be answered by the expert tour guide. The tour finishes up in front of McGee's Pub near the corner of 55th St & Broadway.
