New York CityPASS | What's Included?
New York CityPASS' offer a choice of 9 activities. Three of these nine are included as part of every pass booklet, the others are open to individual choice.
You can choose between either Top of the Rock OR Guggenheim Museum; a Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Cruise OR Circle Line Cruise, and entry to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum OR the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
Below you'll find a detailed list of the included attractions.
1) Empire State Building Experience:
Opening Hours: Daily, 08:00 to 02:00.
- Last lift goes to top 45 minutes before closing.
CityPASS includes general admission (86th floor observatory) along with the multimedia experience and a 'same night' bonus general admission for a same day second visit. Enjoy the Big Apple's sights by day and night! Hear commentary from the audio tour while 1,050ft up in the pavilion. It can explain the background to every sight visible from the glass vantage point.
Present your CityPASS booklet to security at the 2nd floor access point and bypass the ordinary ticket line. Present it again at the audio tour kiosk to get your free audio guide. You are then free to head straight to the high speed elevator line!
2) American Museum Of Natural History:
Opening Hours: Daily, 10:00 to 17:45.
CityPASS includes general admission to the museum, Rose Centre for Earth and Space, along with an IMAX film or space show. To gain entry with your CityPASS booklet please present it at one of the following locations:
- 79th street main entrance advanced sales desk.
- Will Call Desk, 81st street Rose Centre entrance.
- Subway entrance, main 79th street ticket line.
- Rose centre public school line.
CityPASS holders get access to all the museum's normal highlights plus any special exhibits that are on show. Up to date details on the current special exhibitions can be found here. Some special exhibits still require an additional fee, but CityPASS holders may be able to get discounts on them.
Note! The museum is closed Thanksgiving (Nov 27) and Christmas Day (Dec 25).
3) The Metropolitan Museum Of Art:
Opening Hours: Daily, (Sun-Thu, 10:00 to 17:30) and (Fri-Sat, 10:00 to 21:00).
- The Cloisters are open (Mar-Oct, 10:00 to 17:15) and (Nov-Feb, 10:00 to 16:55).
CityPASS includes admission to the main museum as well as the Cloisters museum and gardens. To gain entry with your CityPASS booklet present it at the Will Call Desk located to the left of the information desk in the Great Hall. While in the Great Hall pick up your 10-language audio guide which comes as an upgrade for CityPASS holders. Your booklet will see you through all of the normal exhibitions plus a number of special exhibitions. For an up to date list of the current, fascinating features see here.
Note! The museum is closed on the first Monday in May, and both it and the Cloisters are closed Thanksgiving (Nov 27), Christmas Day (Dec 25) and New Years Day (Jan 1).
4) Top Of The Rock:
Opening Hours: Daily, 08:00 to 00:00.
CityPASS includes general admission to the indoor and outdoor decks of the skyscraper's top 3 floors. As an exclusive upgrade you can also get the 'Sunrise Sunset' ticket, which allows two visits daily for only $13.
To get quick entrance to the observation decks present the CityPASS booklet or voucher at the dedicated CityPASS line on concourse level. It will be marked by a CityPASS sign. You will have your CityPASS booklet ticket exchanged for the next available Top of the Rock ticket.
Note! The last elevator ascends at 11pm.
5) Guggenheim Museum:
Opening Hours: (Sun-Wed & Fri, 10:00 to 17:45) and (Saturday, 10:00 to 19:45).
CityPASS includes general admission to the Frank Lloyd Wright designed art gallery and all of its amazing 20-21st century masterpieces, as well as an audio guide. To gain entry with your CityPASS present the booklet or voucher at the information desk and skip the main ticket line. Certain special exhibits may require an additional fee. 6) Statue Of Liberty & Ellis Island:
With your CityPASS booklet you can get one Statue Cruises ferry which takes you to both Liberty and Ellis Island. You are free to explore both in your own time with a courtesy audio guide, and by travelling with a CityPASS you also get entrance to the Immigration Museum. To board a ferry with your CityPASS booklet simply present it at ticket windows 2,3,4 or 5 of the Battery Park Box Office.
Note! At the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island you will be subject to an airport style security search. Minors (17 years and under) must be accompanied by an adult aged 25 or older to board the ferry.
7) Circle Line Cruises:
Tour New York City's waterways in their entirety with CityPASS New York. The pass is valid for any one of Circle Line's premier products, which include: the Semi-Circle Cruise, Harbour Lights Cruise, Liberty Cruise, or the Beast Speedboat Ride! As an additional special offer to holders of the CityPASS an upgrade to the comprehensive 'Full Island Cruise' only costs another $4. To hop-on any of the cruises simply present your voucher or booklet at the VIP window of Pier 83, Midtown.
Note! No operations on Christmas Day (Dec 25). Beast speedboat available May to September.
8) 9/11 Memorial & Museum:
9/11 Memorial: Daily, 07:30 to 21:00. 9/11 Museum: Daily, 09:00 to 20:00.
Across the 16 acre site that once marked the location of the World Trade Center and Ground Zero now stands a poignant memorial and fascinating museum dedicated the 9/11 terror attacks and their victims. Your CityPASS voucher now grants general access to both and includes the following upgrades: 9/11 Museum Audio Guide and a 60-minute guided tour by a staff member.
A visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum normally takes around two hours, so give yourself plenty of time to view the exhibitions before last entry (18:00, Sun-Thu; 19:00 Fri & Sat). During your visit you'll come face-to-face with the 3000 victims, whose faces line all four walls of the memorial gallery.
The opening section of the Museum will take you back to September 11th, 2001, and will recount the day's events as they unfolded hour by hour. There's also a number astounding artefacts on display, such as the "Survivors' Stairs", where hundreds escaped with their lives, and other exhibitions closely related to the events in NYC, namely the attack on the Pentagon and the story of United Airlines Flight 93.
9) Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum:
Opening Hours: Daily, (Nov 1-Mar 31, 10:00 to 17:00) | (Apr 1-Oct 31, 10:00 to 17:00 [Mon-Fri], 10:00 to 18:00 [Sat-Sun & Holidays]).
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a place where some of history's most ground-breaking and iconic hardware stands open to the public. Its centrepiece is the World War II aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, which survived 5 Japanese kamikaze attacks and one torpedo strike. In the Space Shuttle Pavilion you'll encounter the space shuttle Enterprise, a prototype vessel first unveiled in 1976 that ushered in the start of America's space-faring shuttle program. There's also Submarine Growler (the US' only guided missile submarine accessible to the public) and a British Airways Concorde (the fastest passenger aircraft to have ever flown commercial flights).
CityPASS holders receive a huge number of exciting perks at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum: Special exhibitions which which normally cost extra are included in the ticket price. You'll be able to take part in the following guided tours: (Space Shuttle Enterprise, Planes Explained, Concorde, Pacific War and Intrepid 101). And the museum's three flight simulators will be free to access.
