This 50 minute open-top minibus tour of the Vatican Gardens is the only one of its kind in Rome. It's a peaceful and fascinating journey that includes panoramic views of highlight features such as the Vatican Walls, stunningly ornate fountains and a whole host of various small temples and shrines. It's a world which has up until recently rarely been seen by the public, a place not only of architectural sophistication but abundant foliage from grand old trees to flowers and creepers. The minibus is equipped with audio commentary in 7 languages. Once you've explored the gardens you'll be taken to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Vatican Gardens 50 Minute Minibus Tour:

To begin this unique journey around one of the Vatican's most exclusive locations print off the email voucher you'll receive from this site and take it to any one of the following locations:

  • Any of the City Sightseeing Rome open-top buses.
  • The City Sightseeing Roma Vatican Visitor Centre (Galleria San Pietro, Largo del Colonnato, 5).
  • Saint Peter Visitor Centre (Via della Conciliazione, 19-21).

City Sightseeing Rome staff will exchange it for tickets which you can use to start your tours. The meeting point for the gardens tour is the Vatican Visitor Centre. Arrive at the departure point at lease 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time of 10:45. Upon arrival you'll also be given a complimentary bottle of mineral water before being guided to an awaiting open-air minibus.

As well as being a fantastic sightseeing platform the minibuses are equipped with a 7 language audio guide. This helpful tool will reveal the facts and stories behind sights including, though by no means limited to, the Vatican Walls, Casina Pio IV and the Grotta di Lourdes. Also keep and eye out for the looming magnificence of St. Peter's Basilica, countless sculpted fountains and a menagerie of stunning topiary.


Skip-The-Line Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel:

At the same time as you exchange your voucher for Vatican Gardens tickets you'll receive skip-the-line entry tickets to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Disembark the open-top bus at the end of your tour and access these renowned collections, which include one of the world's largest Renaissance art displays, as well as countless sculpted treasures collected by popes across the centuries. The galleries are open from 09:00-15:00, so be sure to make the most of your visit by exploring the Hall of Maps, the Pinecone Courtyard, the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of Candelabra and the breathtaking Raphael Rooms.

Lastly, enter into the famous Sistine Chapel, location of Michelangelo's ceiling frescoes as well as other works by Sandro Botticelli, Cosimo Rosselli and more.

When in the Vatican ensure that you adhere to the strict dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Low-cut or sleeveless tops and shorts will be not permitted for either men or women. Visitors that do not follow this code will not be permitted entry to the Vatican. The local tour provider cannot be held responsible for entry denied due to improper dress.

Note that the local tour provider is UNABLE to accommodate visitors with wheelchairs or with walking disabilities (Vatican Garden buses cannot accommodate wheelchairs, though the City Sightseeing Rome tour buses can). Certain sites or sections of sites included in the tour may occasionally be subject to last minute changes, for example unscheduled closures. Large handbags, haversacks etc, are not permitted inside the museum. Wardrobe services are available inside the Vatican Museums.
