About Wild Life Sydney Zoo:
First opened in 2006, Wild Life Sydney Zoo is an astoundingly diverse nature sanctuary located right in the heart of Sydney. It features 9 different habitats, each one representing an Australian ecosystem and its accompanying fauna. During a visit you'll encounter numerous species of snake, birds and butterflies, as well as koalas, wallabies, emus, kangaroos and wombats, all of which are rare to nonexistent anywhere else in the world.
Popular amongst Wild Life Sydney's various enclosures is Kakadu Gorge, where visitors can meet fearsome crocodiles face-to-face. There's also a bug's garden where people of all ages can see and handle a distinctive array of Australian insect species.
Journey to the zoo's highest point and you'll encounter the Koala Rooftop, a beautiful open-air space where visitors can get right up close to Australia's most iconic tree-dwelling marsupial. Don't forget to snap a few pictures with these amazing animals. Additionally, the rooftop features a cafe where you grab a quick coffee or snack.
Featuring a canopy that stretches an astounding 20-40 metres off the ground, Wild Life Sydney's Daintree Forest is just as marvellous as the many critters scampering amongst its branches. It's here that you'll encounter the world’s most dangerous bird- the cassowary. This huge bird loves to have cooling showers despite having a strange aversion to getting its feet wet. It's such an unpredictable creature that keepers have to wear a 'cassowary shield’ to protect themselves from attacks. This always makes for interesting viewing whenever they move into the cassowary enclosure.
In Wild Life Sydney's Kangaroo Walk-About you'll not only find Australia's national animal, but also smaller native species such as quokkas, echidnas, wallabies and parrots. Many of these creatures have been raised by humans since they were babies, and are therefore none to shy about being handled.
Don't think you'll get a chance to witness some of the zoo's nocturnal residents? The Nightfall habitat is specially designed to give you a window into the world of these illusive creatures. You're likely to glimpse one of the world's deadliest snakes while it's alert and active, as well as the Ghost Bat and shrew-like Greater Bilby.
Breakfast With The Koalas:
In addition to zoo entry, this special package includes a guided highlights tour, a hot buffet breakfast on the Koala Encounters terrace, a educative koala talk and handling experience, and a professional take-home photo memento. It currently runs every Saturday and Sunday at 07:15. If booked, you must turn up at this time, as the tour gets underway at 07:30.
